The hardship biting people in a lockdown situation has become unbearable, despite government palliative effort to bring succour to the masses,

In view of this the Nigerian Library association (NLA),Kaduna state chapter distributed foodstufs to its members and other individuals in an effort to reduce the devastating effect of the stay at home directive order by the government.The chairman of NLA Kaduna state Dr Lawal Umar speaking with journalists in Kaduna after the distribution, said the gesture is necessary considering the present situation.

”What informed our decision to come up with this idea is to extend our social responsibility as association and to assist government knowing the fact that government cannot do it alone and people are in terrible situation due to lockdown caused by covid 19

”So the food stuffs we have distributed to our members and other individuals in the society will go along way in reducing their hardship in this lockdown period” Umar said

Dr Umar also urged other well meaning Nigerians and corporate organization to emulate the gesture by helping people as the effect of the lockdown is biting hard on them.

Some of the beneficiaries interviewed thanked NLA for the kind gesture.

The items distributed by the Nigeria library association include Rice,noodles,Semovita,sachet tomato,cooking oil among others.
